DWG IFilter 2007 - Support Pages & FAQ

 

Support for existing installations of DWG IFilter 2005 version is still available.

 

DWG IFilter 2005 indexes AutoCAD DWG files up to the AutoCAD 2005 version. To read newer file versions, you need to swith to DWG IFilter 2007.

 

With a new install of DWG IFilter 2005, on an existing registration key, the registration will fail. The registration is locked to your original machine; for a new install you would need to obtain a new key. It is advisable to update to the 2007 version as installation is easier and support is more up to date.

 

When a "Debug Assertion Failed" message is found with DWG IFilter 2005, this may be related to memory allocation issues, and/or DEP checking. This has been found on SharePoint Portal 2003.

On DEP checking, you can add the DWGIFilter DLL and/or the search indexing components to DEP exclusions; read more at http://www.dwgifilter.com/Files/DEP_ReadMe.rtf - after the change, reboot the server.
